Juanita Simanekova

Juanita started dancing at a young age and has enjoyed teaching Ballroom and Latin Dance in the Nashville area since 2008 when she relocated there to compete with her professional partner. Together, they received Rising Star Rhythm Champion titles and were Open Rhythm Finalists at numerous events throughout the country.

As an experienced instructor Juanita enjoys working with students of all ages in both private and group settings. She is the Director and head instructor of the Youth Ballroom Program at Champion Ballroom Center. Several of those students have participated in local competitions receiving top marks.

Seeking ways to be active in the community through dance, Juanita has volunteered to provide lessons during Metro Parks’ Big Band Dances, participated in fundraising events Dancing for Safe Haven Family Shelter and Clarksville’s Dancing with the Stars, and has provided instruction at several High Schools for their special events. In addition, Juanita has been fortunate to work with Metro Parks and Friends of Metro Dance in the past to implement a summer program, Music City Ballroom Kids.

Christopher Wayne

Christopher is a professional ballroom dancer, specializing in competitive dancesport.

He is originally from South Africa, where he started his dance training at the age of 9. As a junior amateur he was ranked 3rd in latin and won top male tap and contemporary dancer in 1998.

Since moving to the United States in 1999, he has become a well-known competitor and has won numerous Rising Star events in the American Rhythm style.

He has been teaching for 15 years and is well known for his persistent and technical teaching style, coupled with a great sense of humor and a lot of patience. He currently resides in Nashville, Tenn.
